Ladies Who Hike (LWH), a local hiking group for women, is partnering with Make-A-Wish Foundation to benefit children in Alabama. On November 14th, they will complete a 27-mile hike on the Pinhoti Trail in Oxford, AL as a Make-A-Wish fundraiser.

“I thought it was a great opportunity benefiting critically ill children in Alabama,” said LWH founder, Brittney Davis. “I signed up on the spot.”

Their goal is to raise $2,500 by December, and you can help! Click here to find out more and make a direct donation of any amount. You can also purchase a candle making kit by emailing ladieswhohike@yahoo.com. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish fundraiser.

Besides fundraising for a great cause, the goal of LWH is to create a safe space where women can come together and enjoy nature as well as build friendships that last a lifetime. LWH is a paid membership based organization, which allows the group to support some of the local trails and parks within Birmingham.

“With all the cares of everyday life I wanted to create a space that brings women together,” said Brittney Davis, Founder of LWH. “Hiking is always something I enjoyed and I wanted to share that experience with other women who may not feel comfortable hiking alone and may not have anyone to hike with.”

To find out more about LWH or to ask about joining, send a message on Instagram (ladies_who_hike) or Facebook (Ladies Who Hike). They are always accepting positive, like-minded members.
