Land Aid featuring Umphrey’s McGee: Sunday, August 8, 2021: Land Aid featuring Umphrey’s McGee  Freshwater Land Trust’s Junior Board is hosting our 12th annual Land Aid, a fundraising concert benefitting land conservation and trail building across Central Alabama. Get your tickets now to jam out with us and Umphrey’s McGee, all in the name of conserving Alabama.

Clairmont Walking Trail Clean-up Day: Saturday, June 19, 8am-11am: The Crestwood South Neighborhood Association and Freshwater Land Trust will conduct a Clairmont Avenue Walking Trail Maintenance and Clean-Up on Saturday June 19th beginning at 8am and stopping at 11am light rain or shine. We will meet at the Amphitheater in the 5200 Block at 8am to organize and get started. Glove up and bring the tools you want to work with (contractor bags, rakes, blowers, chainsaws, wheelbarrows, etc.). See you there!

Jefferson County Landowner Tour: Thursday, July 22, 9am – 2:30pm: Alabama Tree Farm System and Partners invite you to attend their FREE Jefferson County Landowner Tour. This outdoor tour will include tips and tools landowners can use to ensure their forest is healthy resulting in clean water for everyone. Topics include ways to improve your forest through forest management, pond management and certifications.

Lunch and door prizes are provided so register to join us at no cost. Also, CFE and PLM credits will be awarded to attendees needing continuing education credits. 5 PLM and 5 CFE Category 1 credits will be offered. For more information contact Brad Nail at 334-481-2154 or bnail@alaforestry.org

Black Belt Birding Festival: Saturday, August 7: Alabama Audubon’s first-ever Black Belt Birding Festival is Saturday, August 7th in Greensboro, AL. Purchase your early bird tickets for $30 through June 30th. You can also volunteer at this event. Find out more on the Alabama Audubon website.
